Picaria: Free Printable Board
Picaria has been played for centuries with nothing more than a board scratched in the dirt and a few stones. A printed board and some spare coins keep that tradition going โ no screen, no setup, just two players and a quick strategic showdown.
The board below prints on a single A4 sheet. The dashed ring marks the center position, which is off-limits during the placement phase. Grab three coins or tokens per player (pennies vs. dimes works well), hit print, and you’re ready to go.

Place 3 pieces each (not on center) ยท Slide along lines ยท Three in a row wins!
How to Play on Paper
Each player takes turns placing one piece on any dot except the center. Once all six pieces are down, players take turns sliding one piece along a line to an adjacent empty dot โ the center is now open. First to get three in a row along any line wins.
Watch the diagonals through the sub-square centers โ there are more winning lines than you’d expect on a board this small.
What You’ll Need
- The printed board
- 3 tokens per player โ coins, buttons, or small stones work great. Pick two types that are easy to tell apart.
