Play checkers online for free on Classic Play Games. The timeless board game of strategy and tactics — jump over your opponent's pieces to capture them and crown your kings. Challenge the AI at different difficulty levels or play against a friend, no account or download needed.
Checkers (also called draughts) is played on an 8×8 board with 12 pieces per player on the dark squares. Pieces move diagonally one square forward to an empty dark square. Capturing is done by jumping over an adjacent opponent's piece into an empty square beyond — and if another jump is available from the landing square, it must be taken too, chaining captures together.
When one of your pieces reaches the far rank, it is crowned a king and can move and capture diagonally in both directions. You win by capturing all your opponent's pieces or blocking them so they have no legal move left.
Choose between AI difficulty levels. Easier opponents miss longer chain captures and force trades less efficiently, while stronger ones look ahead and only trade pieces when it benefits them.
Local two-player mode lets you and a friend share one phone, tablet, or laptop. Pass after each move — no second account, no invitation needed.
