Dots and Boxes is played on a grid of dots. On your turn you draw a single horizontal or vertical line connecting two adjacent dots. If your line completes the fourth side of any 1×1 box, you claim that box (it's marked with your colour) and you must draw another line.
The game ends when every line on the grid is drawn. The player with the most completed boxes wins. The strategic core is forcing your opponent to draw the third side of a box so you get to close it — and longer chains of boxes go to whoever opens them last.
Easier AI levels happily complete the third side of a box and hand you a long chain; stronger ones count chains and sacrifice short ones to win the long ones. Switch difficulty as your chain-counting improves.
Local two-player mode lets you and a friend share one phone, tablet, or laptop. Pass after each move — no second account, no invitation needed.
